Aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm - The aorta - Life after an aortic dissection

Tomorrow I will start in a 6 hours footrace around a small lake in the city of Boras in Sweden. I hope to reach the marathon distance and I admit that I'm a little bit nervous, but just a little bit. I will think you all. Tomorrow I will tell you how it went...

Have a nice weekend all of you  :-)

Hi,

Thank's for asking. That time it went not that well. After 2½ hour I got problem with my left kne. It hurt and make me walk. So after a little more than 3 hours I was force to give up after walking the last 2,5 km to reach the half-marathon (21,1 km or 13.1 mi) mark. My medicines did some thing with me as well and I have extremly low blodd pressure after the race. Approx 74/46. So even if I not had any problems with my knee, I don't think I had last all 6 hours. Know my knee are pretty well healed and I got help from my doctor to adjust my medicines. Now I'm able to run again with no strange exhausting problems. next goal will be a new 6 hours race at 9:th of march. Before that I plan to participate in a half official race call ultra intervals. There you are suppose to run 10 km every third hour, eight times. I aim to make 2-3 intervals. More is just plain bonus.

I will never give up.  /Stefan
