Aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm - The aorta - Life after an aortic dissection

so, i was doing a bit (well, actually i have been putting it off for quite a while so it turned out to be quite a lot) of filing and stumbled upon my first ever cat scan pictures 6 months post-op. unfortunately, i either gave my doctor or the consultant i went to see in the uk the CD with the pictures on, but i will take the paper copies to work tomorrow and scan them in (i can only do A4 at home and these are A3). what i find interesting to see are the mechanical valve, dacron conduit and the "restart" of the dissection and just how high up it actually is. i have 8 A3 pages of my complete torso so you can follow the dissection down to resection at the iliac branch and see just how scary it looks just below the heart...

watch this space ;)

No time to look closely now, at first glance all I can say is umm I' have no idea what I'm looking at. Tonight I will actually take a good look instead of glancing, wonder what I will find.

as promised... i shan't give away anything to start with, so see if you can understand the pictures. the one thing i will say is that the pictures are ordered left-to-right and then top-to-bottom. each picture represents a slice of my torso as sort of depicted on the penultimate picture (# 189).
