Aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm - The aorta - Life after an aortic dissection

Today I got the word that a working collegue to me passed away in stroke. She was heading home and and got the stroke when was on the way to get in to the car. Other collegues found her on the parking besides her car. She was transported to the emergency - in the same place there I was fighting for my life 6 months earlier. Another collegue was there to visit her. And today when she told me about it I found out that she has been taken to the same room there I was laying for 8 days.

I was shocked and get bad flashbacks. It gave me a bad feeling. And I think how greatful I should be to sit here and write about it. Indeed we are lucky.

Yes! Yo're right both of you. I think the only way is to get used to this. Indeed we're the lucky ones...

I'm sorry to hear your sad news.  It brings it home how lucky we are, not everyone gets a second chance.  I had a lot of flasbacks in the first few weeks after my AD, I felt like I was still at the hospital some days!

Good luck with your next run, I am off to circuit training this afternoon.

Grateful for every day,

Sorry to hear about that. I was lucky my partner spotted my stroke and called the ambulance which got me to hospital and I received treatment.
The frightening thing is I didn't know it was happening. I feel really concerned for people living on their own.
