Hi all,

Has anyone suffered from hair loss? I have been taking Bisoprolol 1.25mg for about 2 years now and my hair has definitely got thinner. I have always had a very thick head of hair so I didn't notice at first. However now I have a real problem around the crown area.

Did a bit of research on the internet to discover that a lot of other people have had this problem while taking beta blockers. My GP has confirmed this too but says that it…

New to the site. Looking for some advice and reassurance. Thanks

Hello everybody. Great to find this site. Here’s my story:

In May 2008 I had a CT Scan at a general medical screening which revealed a functioning bicuspid valve and a dilated ascending aorta measuring 4.4cm. I'm under the care of Dr Bunce at St George's Hospital Tooting. He describes the aneurysm as "mildly dilated". Not sure how this differs from other aneurysms but when I have been surfing the internet I read that surgery is usually advised around 5.0 so feel that 4.4 is not so far…

Hi Marianne..

And welcome to the Aortic Dissection forum! Sounds like you are being modest..climbing volcanes and trekking in South America..good for you! I dont know how many of us are in the same situation as yourself so my advice is to post the info you have here into a blog and post it on the site..i will then elevate it to a 'featured blog' on the front page so everyone can see it and reply to it..

Also from my research and experience (a fair bit - over 7 years!) I think that you are right that mildly dilated is not anything to worry to much about at to the hair thinning - dont know....see if anyone else can shed some light on that question! Anyway, do not be afraid to ask any of us for advice or info or even make any comments - we are all here to help one another!

Take care, and see you on the forums soon!

Kind regards

Graeme Archer
