Aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm - The aorta - Life after an aortic dissection
Many of you will be interested in this test result that I found today. It refers specifically to MHV noise when attached to a prothesis which many of us have when we have our dissection, in particular Type A.
In my case this is most significant as with my Type A Aortic Dissection my MHV was sewn into a dacron prothesis (which is known as a "Bentall procedure" involving A composite graft replacement of the aortic valve, aortic root and ascending aorta, with re-implantation of the coronary arteries into the graft).
Here's the story:

Background and aim of the study: The closing sounds of mechanical heart valves can be disturbing for patients and their closest relatives. Although some investigations into mechanical heart valve sounds have been performed, the particularities of the valve sound when it is attached to a vascular prosthesis to replace the aortic root and the ascending aorta has not been studied to date. The study aim was to compare the closing sounds of three various mechanical composite graft prostheses, and to analyze the impact of such sounds on the patients’ quality of life.
and a more detailed questionnaire.
