The pleasure of a sneeze...

Happily, it's hard to recall exactly how much it's improved, but at almost four months since my surgery, the pain and discomfort as a result of having a chainsaw or angle grinder (or whatever) taken to my chest seems largely to have eased. The sensation of having a prickly barbed wire fence down the middle has finally gone, as has most of the associated muscular pain, which always panicked me into thinking I had angina, until I thought about it a bit more rationally, although there are still…

UPDATE

After my discouraging experience with the new doctor many things have happened: my son 27 year old was in bad motorcycle accident in Chicago on June 4th. Therefore things have been crazy for the last three weeks. He had several broken bones, a puncture lung, lacerated splint and liver. After several days of internal bleeding, he finally left the hospital on Tuesday, June 21st. He was safe from the neck up because he was wearing a helmet TG.

I was finally able to see the…

ECHO today.

So I had my 6m ECHO today and doc says nothing has changed since my last echo. My enlarged aortic root/aneurysm is holding steady at 5.1 and my leak is still considered moderate. Even better news no more CT scans for me, doc feels due to my age that having an ECHO(now once a year) instead of being exposed to radiation once a year is good enough. He does say if the ECHO ever shows change or I start to develop any symptoms then of course a CT scan will be necessary.

Now let's…

Sunday 26th September 2010, a lot changed that day.

Here is my blog, I hope you make it to the end without being too bored!

A very nice hotel, close to Winchester in Hampshire, is the venue for my weeklong conference, checked in and before dinner the delegates meet for drinks in the bar, all is well with the world! The conference dinner was at 7.30 in the evening and I had been sitting down at the table chatting over the first course for about 10 minutes, when BANG I get a sharp pain in my upper left chest. I leave the table…

This is my beginning, my story

This may be a rather long post. I have a lot to say. Please bear with me, and don't click awAy before finishing ;). My story started back in October of last year. I was 30 years old, fit and healthy. I had just arrived home from picking up my 2 older sons from school. I bent over to pick up my 5 month old to feed him and my vision dissapeared. I couldn't see my older ones standing right in front of me. I felt no pain but called my husband to tell him what was happening. He rushed home.… Continue

A close encounter

A close encounter.

My story began back in May 2008…was I 60 or 61, oh well, it was there about’s.

I had just closed down the pc after a bit of surfing, it was around midnight my wife and step daughter were already in bed.

I started feeling a discomfort in my chest…to start with I thought it was a touch of indigestion. The discomfort grew more intense to the point where it felt like something was being ripped…

3rd time to the ER

My Story

Well I am 38 years old. Spent most of my life as a Firefighter/Paramedic. I believe prior to AD I had mild HTN.

heres a real fast chronicle as to my situation.Feb.6 2010 Went to an Emergency room with substernal chest pain and not feeling good at all. They ran bloods on me and it came out normal. My mistake was I left that ER that night still having pain at at a 7 on a scale of 1-10. The next night I went in again and the doctors barely paid any…
