Home sweet home!

Home at last!   Seems quite strange to be home again after all this time.  When I last left home I thought I would be back in a couple of hours, not three weeks later!  As David was saying, it takes some getting used to managing without the support of a dedicated medical team.  I've had a couple of walks around the house today but have felt quite tired and have rested quite a lot.  I guess it's all quite a shock to the system!  I have the district nurse coming tomorrow to test my INR but she… Continue

So how did I become part of this special community?

It all started last November. I had been to Houston on a business trip and then visited my parents the weekend I got back. As I was still fairly jet-lagged, my wife had driven us to and from Shropshire, and we returned home late Sunday afternoon. Late that evening while reading, I suddenly had a very sharp spasm in my stomach and lower chest. For a few moments I couldn't breathe, and after the pain…

Still Here!

Hi all

Well I am still here and likely to be for the next 48 hours at least.  I've been pumped full of intravenous anti-biotics all through the weekend but my temp. was still a bit raised this morning and they don't want to take any chances.  I guess it doesn't matter where I recover as long as i do recover!

I feel pretty good in myself at the moment apart from sleeping a lot.   I think the Tramadol I am taking helps to dull any pains I might have.

I was getting pretty…

Not so close!

Seems like I am not quite as close to "the end of the beginning" as I thought!

Yesterday my temp  went over 38C which started a few alarm bells ringing.  I had been expecting to go home but perhaps I was unrealistic.  Now it looks like i'm here for the weekend.  I'm am now on antibiotics and have been put in isolation as my stools had been very loose.  They are worried about the usual seasonal nasties like Nora virus.  It's a pain but rather safe than sorry.  Problem now is that I…

Saw my Doctor

Well on monday i saw my doctor. My blood pressure is higher than it should be. So my Losartan has been increased. Also the pain in my arm and chest is coming from my bones. I cannot lift my left arm without wincing in pain. Do i feel reassured. One answer NO. If i am not feeling any better i will contact my consultant or get checked at the local hospital.

I'm Back!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all you good wishes and support while I was out of action around the dark side. I am glad Aileen was able to update you on my progress.

I wish I could say I feel fine but every time I pop my head up that damn MAC Truck thunders into me again. But every day it's getting just a little easier.

I had a transfusion last night as my Haemaglobin was a bit down.  I have now had all remaining wires removed and followed that with…
