White Coat Hypertension
I saw my cardiologist today. Everything was fine. He did change my beta blocker from Toprol because my pulse rate was often in the 40's. I was not diagnosed with high blood pressure before dissection. It was typically about 130/80 in the doctor's offices without medication. I am now on 3 different blood pressure medications and my b/p at home averages 115/60. In any doctor's office since the dissection my blood pressure shoots up to 160 to 190/70 to 90 and stays up until I leave the office.…See More

and welcome to the Aortic Dissection group! Like many of us it seems that the angels were watching over you.. I also had a similiar set of circumstances on my dissection and on my wifes prompting decided to set up this site…

I also had a similiar set of circumstances on my dissection and on my wifes prompting decided to set up this site for all of us AD survivors and also for familes and loved ones of people that did not make it...
You will find a lot of support here as its what we do best, so please jump right in and make yourself known to everyone. Maybe start a blog with your story as you have told it on your joining as it is best on a blog or even on the discussion forums. So, once again a big welcome and a Happy and HEALTHY New Year!
